The shelves from IKEA. And the curtain was made with a fabric that was 100 inches wide, railroaded to avoid seams, then applied with a snap tape to the top. The rod is an architectual track like those used in hopitals. It has on it the opposite side to the snap. So you just snap your curtain on. It is very simple and not hard to make at home The furniture Hilde made 9 ottomans on Seasons 2 opener. She made 3 of them with backs. 36 4x4's were used for the legs or feet of the ottoman/chairs (pickled finish) 2' x 2' were used for the bases/bottoms of the chairs 12 inch foam was the seat bottom to put on the base/bottoms batting was added then fabric stapled on

He used three strips of peel off velcro to adhere to wall. His wall was 8ft x 16 ft and he used a gaberdine fabric. He said that gatorboard was denser than foam board, easier to staple into and lightweight. You can find it at art supply stores jerseystar who was the lucky recepient of this room looked at the can left for touch up painting and it reads, Lowes American Tradition Flat Wall Paint , paint #751.....there was no "name" to the color

Wall cube $20.00 each courtesy of artsncraft Room Divider Lauries room dividers 3/8 plumbing phlanges to include the conduit pipe that screws into it. It appeared she used standard ready made shelving that she attached the phlanges to at the narrower ends of the board, then the conduit then another phlange at ceiling and floor. Depends on your area to "divide" as to how many board/shelves you would use, length of board/shelves as to length of conduit needed.

Hildi glued her paper tulips inside the vase with the pattern showing thru the glass with glue.......she applied glass paint with a foam brush over her applique of tulips on the INSIDE of the vase. Be prepared to get paint on your arm! Read your glue package to make sure it adheres and dries smooth to glass like Modge podge for instance does and will never yellow. You will need to cut a 3/4 inch piece of plywood into a circle the size of your vase opening (turn the vase over on your ply and trace the shape). This plywood will be the base of your lamp kit. You will want to angle your piece so it slides a bit into your vase opening for security or you will knock it off every time you bump the end table or go to turn it off/on. Similar to a glass canister with a thick angled cork you might keep salt or sugar in! The cord will NOT go thru the vase; it will lay over the plywood and go down the back of the vase. You can find lamp kits including the harp and easy connects at any HD , Lowes or hardware store. Your most expensive purchase will be your lamp shade, the lamp kit is way cheap. You will NOT get electrocuted using a lamp kit, the wires are color coded for you to hook onto the connections : ) ! You can do this technique many ways to include filling the vase with colored stones, seashells, your childs drawings glued on the inside then painting over them......You could mottle paint with a sea sponge the colors of your choice on the inside of the vase.........I do NOT know if you can ever remove the paint from the inside of the glass so I would be sure to do the job right from the get go! Look in your yellow pages under paper suppliers fill any nail holes etc. on wall Prepare walls with wallpaper sizing primer (ask at your local hardware or home improvement store for this product) Start by cutting enough 2 inch strips to go around the room just above the baseboard Use heavy duty clear wallpaper paste and roll it onto the back of the 2 inch strips and adhere them to the wall Begin with your larger pieces by rolling the adhesive onto the back of your paper and place on wall with the deco edge (rough end) towards the bottom overlapping the 2 inch piece by about 1/2 inch and proceed up the wall with your other pieces and around the room. You are not going for straight lines with this paper on the wall, random placement You are not going to "book" this paper after you apply the paste as you would with regular wallpaper so roll on the adhesive and stick to wall right away. If it beads up......it is sealed and you will have to ask at your local hardware store what to do next. I know the products to remove the seal are strong and I dont know if you would want to use them inside. To clean, wet with clear water. Apply a hot solution of 2 to 2 1/2 ounces washing soda or 1/2 ounce TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) per gallon of water. TSP can be found in paint, hardware and home center stores. Both concrete stain and porch and patio enamel paint are durable and designed for outdoor use but hold up to heavy floor traffic so I would recommend using it on your floor for this application as well. This is a time/knee consuming project and to use latex and watch it "wear" due to traffic could be depressing! You could apply a base coat to the concrete before beginning embellishments in the color of your choice or having the base coat tinted to the color you want. If you have Franks free hand experience power to you, to the rest of us there are stamps and stencils thank goodness. If you can free hand he simply used his darker color (brown) to paint the shape of his stones, let it dry then used a sponge to pat into his other two colors and randomly patted them into the stone forms leaving some concrete showing in places. He then used a fan brush, and flicked it randomly over the stones and free handed some veins as well. There are many stencils available that would make this an easy project for those without his drawing skills that include stone shapes. You could then use Franks two color idea for shading in the shapes and even include stamping on bugs, frogs, flowers whatever you want with stamps or more stencils. Ask at your hardware store IF you should put a protective coating over it when you use the concrete stain or floor enamel. You do not want to make the surface slick or slippery but do want to know how to protect it. ILYK Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire! Valspar coats so much easier and faster than any other paint that I have ever worked with- that we always try to use it. Even if Lowe's didn't sponsor the show, I would use it! Gator board can be found at most larger art supply shops (I got mine at Sam Flax) Candle Clock Room: (From Vern himself) good news and bad news on this one. The hands can be found at www.chiasso.com or at a Chiasso retail store if there happens to be one in your area. The sconces, however, were a bargain basement steal at a Pottery Barn outlet and would be hard to find again. Finding Live Bamboo by Vern Yip live Bamboo can be found most reasonably at most grocery stores at your local Chinatown or ordered through your local garden shop or florists. (2) Crush - scrunch (which wrinkles the paper), then straighten the pieces out. (3) Dip paper in water to moisten. Wipe off excess moisture. (4) Put layer of Mod Podge on the wall. Vern used a 3'x 3' Sisal Duet carpet tile that is commercial grade made by Milliken. There are two kinds of duet...Minor and Major. Minor has a lot of smaller squares in that 3' perameter. Major (what Vern used) has only 4 squares per tile. If I had to guess I'd say he used the color way "Quintet Thistle". Minor is #313, Major is #413. The sample number is 800-241-2327. For all you internet junkies you can log onto...www.millikencarpetsamplestudio.com. Then go to 'Products', 'Collection'-Sisal Duet and you can browse the full color line and even see it in an installation photo. There is a down side...A square yard of it runs around $35 a piece. All you do is divide this by 9 and you'll get the $ per square foot. Whew! That's what I'm talking about. It's pretty darn expensive. For the room that Vern did your looking at around $1000 for material only. Vern must have exchanged a couple product plugs for a mean discount from his Rep. Another thing to be aware of is that Commercial Carpet does not always clean like Residential Carpet. For this particular carpet tile you have to purchase their cleaning system which is called MilliCare. MilliCare's dry system uses a moist powder that absorbs soil and stains (even odors) from carpet fibers and is then vacuumed up leaving a clean carpet. But that's another purchase that is very expensive. I'll warn about cleaning it any other way. If you were to steamclean or have a carpet cleaning company come in to clean it you would destroy the carpet pattern. All of Milliken's products have their patterns "printed" on and therefore do not clean with any water based cleaner. I've specified Milliken on many commercial jobs and the carpet is beautiful. I'm just giving you a heads up to let you know what is involved so you can judge for yourself if it's the right product for you. Hope I helped!
