OK, so I HATED the floor that was in my kitchen. It was a nice floor, but had been yellowed by previous owners using throw rugs with rubber backings, not to mention all the little dings and scratches where dirt loves to hide. So, I took the afternoon yesterday and lay down some new peel and stick vinyl tiles. The new color alos goes better with the carpet that runs through my place.

Dh gets so aggrevated with me. As soon as we finish a project (like just finished with the sweat still dripping off of us)I will usually say something like, "Now, it will really look good when we get such and such done too!" So, how was it putting down the tile? Did you find it easy or difficult? |

Blondie, I love the floor! Do you find yourself sitting in your kitchen staring at the floor?

Quote: It was pretty easy actually. The hardest part was fitting the tile around parts of the radiator and even that wasn't too bad. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured.

Oh poor doggy! That reminds me of that toilet paper commercial. When they stack all of the toilet paper up so the dog will hit something soft when he slides across the floor!

Wow. I am very impressed. And late, Im very late getting here, but I had to say how awesome it looks. Very good job! Its good to know it was easy. We have a black and white check floor with fruit wallpaper in our kitchen. Not sure how well that will go over with possible buyers, so we may have to throw something else down on the floor. I love the wallpaper, but that floor is nothing but a pain. Very hard to clean.
Anyway, thank you for sharing it with us. You did a great job! Gen |

Nice floor! | ||

genevieve--The floor looks great! We are currently attempting to finish our basement (it's been drywalled for over 10 years and stagnant). Today we spent hours starting a suspended (drop) ceiling...the room is huge and it's going to take us days along with lighting to put in.
It doesn't help that we live in a very crooked house. lol Flooring will come MUCH later...right now it's just painted grey...I was tempted to try to paint "stones" like Frank did in the one HO's gameroom but...thought better of it. Maybe someday I can post a picture. |

Sounds like you are having fun, cheribaybee.
Have fun doing your basement. I'm sure you will be relieved when it is done. Nicki*needs to get busy on doing things around her house, like put in a new kitchen floor.* |

With consideration to our very crooked house, we have decided to CARPET the basement floor. No crooked lines
The ceiling is in, and looks faboolus. Hubby finished the trim around the all the doors (that's 6!) and put some bifolds on a closet door (things sure look better when the junk is hidden behind doors!). It's starting to take shape. I agreed to paint, since I like painting..it's a BIG room. I'm having a hard time picking colors though. We may do a beach/boating sort of theme since we spend tons of time at those things. Something leaning toward Frank-style. Long ago, I printed out Frank's drawings for the coffee table that looks like a dock. |
